Our Mission

All trees have a life cycle, so we are making every effort to save the trees we can from ending up in the waste stream. When trees need to be removed from the Urban Forest, we preserve their natural beauty and also limit carbon emissions by salvaging trees lost during storms, disease, or normal senescence and recycling this wood into usable raw lumber.
Our urban wood offers a story unlike any other, as it brought back to life… A true Street Tree Revival®.

Our roots

25 years ago, West Coast Arborists, Inc., (WCA) started an urban wood recycling program in collaboration with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF). WCA is a tree maintenance and management provider serving cities, counties, and school districts. Since a number of trees living within our local urban forest eventually decline and require removal, it became imperative to identify ways to salvage what we can as a way to reduce our carbon footprint.

OUR VALUES

Street Tree Revival Program Values:

  • Urban forests offer an essential community service.
    • Arborist services and urban forest management plans are necessary to maintain the health of urban forests.
    • Thoughtful land use benefits people and the environment. We want to encourage people to plant and care for trees not only as a service to their households, but also to their communities.
    • Access to green space is needed to inspire creativity and improve concentration, memory, and overall health!
    • End of Life trees can be recycled into unique lumber, different than what’s readily available in big box stores.
    • Income produced from urban lumber allows for green job creation.

  • We believe in leaving the world a better place than we found it. Through our unique position, serving communities throughout CA and AZ, we can make a significant difference.
    • We strive to effectively recycle and distribute material that must already be removed in an environmentally friendly way.
    • We assist public agencies with their climate action plan goals to reduce carbon emissions while offering long term carbon storage in urban canopies and heirloom wood products.
    • We encourage communities to reimagine green waste as a bio-resource to provide a closed loop ecosystems approach.
    • We connect groups of people to positively impact communities while offering education on the gifts and opportunities trees provide.
    • We promote the importance of green jobs and continued training opportunities.
